珠光油墨的特殊性就在于使用了珠光颜料。云母钛珠光颜料是以云母薄片为基底物，在光滑的云母表面包覆上透明或较透明的高折射率的二氧化钛和氧化铁组成的薄层。当光线照射到云母片上时，云母片就像透明的小镜子，部分光线被反射出去，部分光线以折射到下一个界面上，又发生第二次的部分反射和部分透射，依此继续下去。由物理光学知道，在两个反射面反射的光线，会相互作用，相互作用的结果取决于相位差、入射角、折射率等因素，从而形成干涉特征的珠光现象。
The particularity of pearlescent ink lies in the use of pearlescent pigments. Mica titanium pearlescent pigments are thin layers of transparent or transparent titanium dioxide and iron oxide with high refractive index, which are coated on the smooth surface of mica sheets. When the light shines on the mica sheet, the mica sheet is like a transparent mirror. Some of the light is reflected, and some of the light is refracted to the next interface. The second partial reflection and partial transmission occur and continue accordingly. Physical optics knows that the light reflected from two reflectors will interact. The results of the interaction depend on the phase difference, incident angle, refractive index and other factors, thus forming the pearlescent phenomenon of interference characteristics.
